Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory? And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

Millions Praying as One
Millions of believers worldwide ended the 21-day Isaiah 62 Fast and prayers for Israel on Pentecost. Gathering all the prayers, insights, wonders, and miracles during those days reminded me of John writing at the end of his gospel about the acts of Jesus (Yeshua). He supposed “that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.” I was thinking of the “many things” John wrote about in the Scripture and how this call could only have been orchestrated by the Holy Spirit to reach one of the “things” (And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail…) he did write about in John 17:20-21, Jesus’ prayer for today’s believers:
I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; That they may all be one; Even as You, Father, are in Me and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you sent Me.
Connecting Words
If I hadn’t taken my study of Hebrew to a deeper level last summer, I don’t think I’d have gained as deep an understanding of who our savior is when I found His name in the ancient writings of Israel perused during the 21 days of prayer. I would have read the Scriptures without the extra insight that sets my heart on fire. I hope a few of my findings do the same for you!
Before I share the Scriptures, here is a brief biblical Hebrew lesson – when you see the word “LORD” in your Bible translation, it replaces the tetragram for God’s name: Yehovah, which at the time of Jesus would have been spoken. The word “salvation” in Hebrew is “Yeshua,” Jesus’ original name. It may appear in Hebrew with a bit of a different form due to pronouns or prepositions, but it remains the same root of the word. I’ve added my new understanding in parentheses.
Isaiah 62:1
For Zion’s sake I will not be silent,
for Yerushalayim’s sake I will not rest,
until her vindication shines out brightly
and her salvation (her Yeshua) like a blazing torch.
Psalm 27:1
“The LORD (Yehovah) is my light and my salvation (my Yeshua); whom shall I fear?” Psalm 27:1
Psalm 118:14
The LORD (Yehovah) is my strenght he has become my strenght and my salvation (my Yeshua).
Proverbs 30:4
Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in his fist? Who has wrapped the waters in his garment? Who has establish all the ends of the Earth? What is His name or His son’s name? Surely you know!
After reading these Scriptures this morning, a song popped into my mind whose words stem from Job 19:25 –As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last, He will take His stand on the earth. Even after my skin is destroyed, yet from my flesh I shall see God…”
Thinking of the Scripture reminded me of a beautiful song from Job’s words. Found it on a video to share with you. May it bring you encouragement, joy, and peace!
Hearts on Fire
If we think about Jesus walking on the road to Emmaus explaining about Himself, and remember the disciples knew Him as Yeshua and were hearing the words of the only Scriptures available, the Old Testament, after reading today’s Scriptures, wouldn’t our hearts be on fire? What a fantastic walk that would have been! And we’ve only touched on the tip of the barrel…
