Strike of Terror in Israel

I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!

Call to Pray for Israel

Last week I was sick and only found out about the bus station bombings that happened in Israel this past Wednesday after recovering and opening my Haverim.blog email yesterday, where I found a call to prayer concerning the terror attack from FIRM. To forward this prayer call for Israel to you, I’ve included the entire letter which includes a link to details of the bombings and prayer points. Below the letter, I’ve added a video of Psalm 121 sung in Hebrew with English so that you can sing and pray Psalm 121 along with our brothers and sisters in Israel.

I hope you’ll join me in praying for Israel, including the family and victims of these horrible bombings, today and in the coming days. I was in Israel in 1996 for five weeks when the first bomb went off on Bus 18 in Jerusalem, the following one a week later, and numerous others. I was a guest of Israelis, working with Israelis, and I taped many interviews during this period. I will never forget the interview with one young woman who, like nearly all native Israelis, had proudly served the right of passage as a soldier in this tiny Jewish nation the size of New Jersey. She said, “This is our country. It is all we have.”

Information & Prayer Requests Letter

Hello Nancy,

You may have seen in the news that this morning there were two bus stop bombings in Jerusalem – just a few miles away from our offices. One of our team members was actually very close to the area of the second attack when it happened as she was driving to work.

In moments like this, there are no adequate words to describe the heartache. Still, we mourn with those who mourn (Romans 12:15). Our hearts are grieved for the family of the 16-year-old boy who lost his life much too soon, and we are praying for healing over the 22 others wounded.

You can read more about what happened here: https://allisrael.com/bomb-explodes-at-jerusalem-bus-stop-several-inju

As a team, we responded in the best way we know how – with prayer. I am sharing with you a scripture we read, prayed, and sang over our city, our nation, and each and every person who calls this place home. Will you join us by praying this over the people in Israel today?

I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, he who watches over Israel
never slumbers or sleeps.
The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon at night.
The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.
— Psalm 121
